Environmental Speaker Series: The JUNK Raft

"How much plastic is floating in the world’s oceans? Where is it accumulating? Is it causing harm to people and the planet? And most importantly, what can we do about it?"

Dr. Marcus Eriksen and Anna Cummins founded the 5 Gyres Institute to investigate these key unanswered questions about plastic pollution. The 5 Gyres Institute is a leader in the global movement against plastic pollution with more than 10 years of expertise in scientific research and engagement on plastic pollution issues. VLT's Environmental Speaker Series: The Junk Raft will focus on the work of Eriksen and Cummins, and how individuals and communities can eliminate single-use plastic and help keep plastics out of the ocean.
