Celebrate summer at VHC's Family Fun Day at Big Rock! On Saturday, August 6th, grab the kids and head on over to our Big Rock Preserve from 10 am - 12 Noon. We will treat you and your family to two full hours of FREE nature-themed crafts, an environmental scavenger hunt and a biologist-led hike along the banks of the Ventura River.

It's been nearly five months since we planted the last of the 500 trees that are taking root at Big Rock and we are eager to show off our growing handiwork. In addition, we want to expose more people to the delicate habitat that exists in the Ventura River estuary and emphasize the importance saving it for people, plants and animals!

Family Fun Day is a collaboration between VHC and Ventura County Star’s VCS Outdoors.

The event is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to wear sturdy closed-toe shoes, sunscreen and a smile!
