Calling All Women Wanderers...
The Ventura Hillsides Conservancy (VHC) and REI Oxnard have teamed up to host a "Force of Nature" Bike and Hike event designed for women only on Saturday, September 23rd at 9 AM. VHC fully supports REI's "Force of Nature" campaign which is focused on creating more opportunities for women and girls to take part in life outdoors. Adrienne Stephens and Annette Baldwin, which represent 50% of VHC's small staff, will lead this FREE COMMUNITY BIKING adventure.
Riders of the female persuasion will travel with from VHC's Willoughby Preserve to our Big Rock Preserve. We will gather together at Ventura's Main Street Bridge Kiosk and pedal approximately 6 miles (the route is slightly uphill) to our Big Rock Preserve. Upon arrival, VHC staff will lead the group on a beautiful nature walk along the banks of the Ventura River and we will then pedal the 6 miles back. The round-trip 12 mile tour should last approximately 2 hours and is appropriate for bike riders with beginner/intermediate riding experience.
Please bring your bike, helmet, water to stay hydrated and a sense of adventure!
