Join Ventura Land Trust for its annual Monarch Madness community event on Saturday, March 19th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Hayden Teaching Preserve. Monarch Madness celebrates monarch butterflies and helps establish monarch habitat for a healthy ecosystem.
At this family-friendly event, you can help plant pollinator plants like native narrowleaf milkweed. Partners from Green Valley Project, Santa Monica Mountains Fund, and VLT's Ventura Wild will help participants build bug hotels and explore fun monarch art and learning activities.
At Hayden Teaching Preserve’s newly installed native plant nursery, guests will learn how to propagate young plants and plant cuttings of arroyo willow in the preserve’s barranca.
Ventura Land Trust will provide plants, shovels, mulch, and watering materials. Guests should bring water, and be sure to wear sturdy shoes and sun protection.
