Nature On Tap - August 27

Thomas Fire Recovery Success Stories

Join Ventura Land Trust (VLT) and learn about how we are successfully recovering from the devastating Thomas Fire.  VLT is leading a series of long-term restoration projects throughout the Ventura River watershed in an effort to repair fire damage and help the land recover in the most beautiful way!

The Thomas Fire damaged the Big Rock Preserve as well as our private Hayden teaching property, creating a great deal of work for VLT's stewardship staff. Kate Furlong, VLT Stewardship Director, will share about how staff has joined forces with volunteers, and contractors to help repair the fire damage, create more wildlife habitat, combat invasive plant species that are trying to take over, and prepare for the future of the land during the ongoing drought.

Mix and mingle with VLT staff and board from 7 - 7:30. Presentation begins at 7:30.
