New Name, New Logo – More Committed than Ever
After fourteen successful years, Ventura Hillsides Conservancy is now Ventura Land Trust. Ventura Land Trust (VLT) is the same organization, with the same dedicated board and staff, the same excellent reputation, and the same proven methods – we are just changing our name and logo.
The name “Ventura Land Trust” better reflects our current work and vision for serving the greater Ventura area. A land trust is defined as a charitable nonprofit organization that actively works to conserve land. Not only do we remain dedicated to preserving our hillsides, we are also committed to protecting all kinds of natural areas in Ventura County – land in the hills, land along the rivers and creeks, land for trails, and land important for agriculture – for present and future generations.
“We hope the new name and look will help us better connect to more people who care about land, water, wildlife and outdoor recreation in Ventura,” said Derek Poultney, VLT Executive Director.
While the name change was easy, the quest for a new logo was not. Several dedicated design professionals pitched ideas and we worked through many differing options. Thank you to Kellie Meehan (Searle Creative Group), Frank Boross (Boross Media Service), Jen Livia (Red Brick Gallery & Paint Ventura) and Annette Baldwin, for their creative input. In the end, the board of trustees and staff all agreed on a design created by Annette.
In the coming months, we begin rebranding our organization and updating our website, collateral materials and merchandise. In the meantime, please know that while our name has changed, our priorities and goals remain the same. We are steadfastly committed to protecting the beauty in and around Ventura today, tomorrow and forever!
