Ventura Land Trust's stewardship team has completed surveys of preserves following the atmospheric river that dropped more than 15 inches of rain on areas of Ventura County. Willoughby Preserve near the coastal estuary was inundated by flood waters from the Ventura River.
Now that the river has retreated, it is possible to see all of the organic and inorganic debris deposited throughout the preserve. The goal of this volunteer event is to remove debris and inorganic material. Volunteers will receive additional details after registering.
- In order to participate, all volunteers must sign a liability release waiver (LINK).
- Please sign and return electronically to [email protected] (VLT preference), or bring a signed copy with you on the day of the event. There will be extra waivers on site, if needed.

A Note Regarding the Ojai Valley Sanitary District Sewage Leak:
Representatives from OVSD and the City of Ventura have assured VLT that it will be safe to work in dry areas along the Ventura River.
Tests show that present contamination is being caused by other sources, such as agricultural runoff. For more information, check out the links below.
