Meet Kona, VLT’s Adoptable Dog!
Hi friends, I’m Kona!
I’m a happy, energetic 18-month-old girl who loves adventures, making new friends, and having fun wherever I go. I adore my foster family, especially my foster brother Hank, who plays with me and teaches me all kinds of doggy things.
One of my favorite things is going on adventures with my friend Maisie. We run around the park together, and she runs faster than I do—which I think is great! Recently, we took a trip to Big Bear and enjoyed lots of long hikes through the woods. It was so much fun!
I’m a curious girl who likes to stay involved in whatever my humans are doing. Right now, my favorite spot is right between foster mom’s feet while she’s cooking or cleaning so I can supervise and make sure everything is done correctly!
My foster mom is teaching me how to walk politely on a leash, and I’m learning quickly. Sometimes I get a little excited because the world is such an interesting place, but I’m working hard on my manners. Foster mom says I find joy in everything and that I’m always ready for the next adventure.
She also says I’m very smart—and I agree! I’ve already learned to potty outside, enjoy quiet time in my crate, and sleep through the night in my crate without making a peep. I’m a very good girl!
Kona is a Shepherd/Pit Bull/Heeler mix who weighs about 50 pounds. She is about a year and a half old and would thrive in an active home with a yard and another playful dog. Like many young dogs, she’s still learning some puppy manners and leash skills, so she’ll do best with a patient family that will continue her training and help her become the best dog she can be.
Kona loves car rides, does well with baths, and brings happiness wherever she goes. She is a joyful, affectionate, friendly girl who is ready to find her forever family.
Could that be you?
Kona is ready for her next adventure—and she’s hoping it’s with you..
