Natalie Pikus
She/Her
Assistant Educator
Natalie grew up in upstate New York and spent her days exploring the Adirondacks' many lakes, rivers, and forests. Having always felt a deep connection with nature, she studied Environmental Science at Villanova University and completed a Graduate Certificate in Climate Science and Adaptation from the University of Maine. Upon graduating from college, Natalie joined the United States Navy for eight years and has lived in Ventura with her girlfriend and their two chihuahuas since 2020. They love to fill their weekends with camping trips in their van, hikes in Harmon Canyon, and excursions out to the Channel Islands. Natalie is a huge advocate for community service and has volunteered with numerous environmental organizations in the local area.
Although her prior career was spent in military service, Natalie’s passion for the outdoors has only continued to grow, and she has come to understand the importance of fostering a connection with the world around us from an early age. Through her work as an instructor in the Navy, she also found a love for teaching and holds great value in being a positive influence in students’ lives. Being an Assistant Educator with Ventura Wild is the perfect intersection of her passion for all things nature and her love of teaching. She looks forward to learning hands-on skills, embracing new experiences, and connecting with the local community and world around her through this work!
